OVERALL REFORMAT OF THE TEXT REQUIRED
Why NewGame+?
In classic jRPG games for the SNES and the PSX, after you finished the game you could start over with your previous progress, including EXPERIENCE and Knowledge, into a new game called NewGame+.
So with the knowledge and experience of a various "playthroughs" in mind, this page has been written for new players.
The idea is to help guide you through your first steps, but also leave enough room to experience the game in your own pace - it is more a guide as to an exact tutorial.
If you feel lost along the way, you may wanna check out the About the game (by Kidori) and Common_Abbreviations(by SigSig) pages.
In order to verify the data on this page , you have to run it at least twice to compare. In regards of accounts that would mean I would have to run at least 2 Accounts (either at the same time or with a pause in between; also ideal to observe different Squad and Fleet-Shards to observe progress).
The first account would be to try something new and the second to verify or optimize said result. However, having access to multiple accounts does not mean that you intend nor actively play said accounts after. On that on a basis we ran 15 BURNER Accounts for this . 10 to gather data and 5 to optimize and verify.
A list of some of these accounts can be found here: list of swgoh acc
Early Game Experience Changes (EGEC)
In May 2021 Capital Games announced that they would change the Early Game Experience, which also included (short list):
- a texture updates for Characters models
- the receiving starting Characters for new players
- early rewards from Nodes (Light Side, Dark Side and Cantina Battles)
- Fleet and Conquest Energy have been moved to the Lobby (commonly called Cantina, do not mistake it for Cantina Battles)
- Galactic War now only requires 1 (!) complete clear to unlock the SIM function (it still requires you to reach Level 85; it was 50/50 and before that 150/150 )
- Prestique Quest are now in the Journey Guide and no longer require Level85 to enter.
- Announcement to change GEAR drops from Challenges in various steps, leading to more rewards.
Screens before EGEC
[add more screens later ; 5GB and 12,000 screenshots to go through]
Gameplay changes
The most important change in that is the change of the following starting characters:
New players would now receive differenct characters when they make a new account, or start the tutorial on a previous account that never finished the tutorial:
(previous character → new character)
Light Side:
- Jedi Consular → Jedi Knight Anakin at 1-star
- Clone Sergeant → Ahsoka Tano at 1-star
- Clone Wars Chewbacca → Obi-Wan Kenobi (Old Ben) at 3-star
Dark Side:
- Royal Guard → Kylo Ren (Unmasked) at 1-star
- Talia → Moff Gideon at 3-star
- Snowtrooper → Dark Trooper at 1-star
With these changes, the available teams and roasters changed and made for different compositionsin the early stages of the game, as well as unlocking new teams faster.
In addition, the changes made to Challenges and Galactic War ensure that you gain more gear and may achieve 1,200 Galactic War Tokens to be used in the Galactic War Store.
These two changes are universal, as it benefits Level85 players as well as new beginners, since some of these changes included desperately needed Mk 3 Carbanti Sensor Array Salvage.
Basics
(need to write a better wall of text) The game start and forces you into a tutorial - you will not be able to escape that. However once you completed the tutorials you will be rewarded with crystals and learn how to purchase packs, which will always give you the same champion.
Do not upgrade any toons besides JKA, Old Ben and Ahsoka as a new starter.ignore the rest and get some good friends for hard nodes.
DO NOT UPGRADE MODS BELOW 5*
Routine and TEAMS:
Focus your daily energy on 2xCANTINA refresh, push that phoenix squad into geos.after you got ezra, swap to cantina geos. once that is done, refresh normal energy for other toons. (you get plenty of bonus early on!)
FOCUS PHOENIX AND GEOS into Trooper, ignore JKR for now. Your second Lightside Team will be Jedi (Ahsoka, Old Ben, JKA, Ezra, Kanan) = GMY
You should hit level40 by the 2nd day, pushing hard on phoenix and clear that GW 12/12 ASAP bc you will need those 652.000 credits a day. You can get Zeb this way and also the Geo Fleet from the GW. Alternatively, you use all your mod energy for shitty mods and sell all mods that are not 5*. Friends will take care of everything-
GET a decent Guild (and Friends) so you can participate, not training guilds or smth or low level you will need the GET1, GET2 and Guild Tokens. After you unlock all the Stores, and you have Phoenix complete swap for CLS reqs and the Geo Fleet. Have an eye out for Troopers-
You can get to 85 in under 102 days if you refresh cantina 2x daily and after that swap to 3x50 normal. IF you managed to place yourself in the top 50 of fleet you can get enough crystals for 3x50 Normal and 2x MOD (for either credits or FLEET for Shards).
Keep in mind you can always enter galactic journey, once unlocked, for the low level toons(EP; GMY, Thrawn) and get juicy crystals for each stage
As to the previous statement, ofc you can upgrade the Phoenix Squad-- Esp ZEB and Ezra will be fun in addition to ahsoka, old ben and JKA with their stagger, stun and double attack but the reaal fun will be Geos later on

Energy and Rotation Template
This game has various sorts of Energy (see Basic Information#Energies), with different rates of regeneration.
Each of these categories have various Nodes and differentiate in difficulty as well as the types of rewards:
- Chararcter Shards
- Blueprints (for ships)
- Gear(parts)
- upgrade Materials
You start the game with a maximum energy storage of 60/60 at Level1 and reach a maximum 144/144 at Level 85 (as of 10/2016).
When your energy hits 144/144 you will no longer accumulate free energy and the energy can only be increased by purchasing energy.
Rebuying energy (in exchange for crystals ) grants you 120 energy and 20 SIM Tickets, if you hit the max (144) your purchase will stop the regeneration process,
so it is best to check before the purchase how many minutes you would have to wait, even if it is for just 1 Energy.
The visual softcap is at 999+120 energy, but the hardcoded max is at 8888.

Most people have an idea or fixed rotation on how and what to farm. The following table is just an example, with remaining energy to be carried over into the next day.
Rewards from a node are not a guaranteed drop, nor is it exact math. The rewards displayed on a Node are merely the maximum rewards possible per fight or while using SIM.
Each return it is based upon RNG (Random Number Generators), though during special events a certain amount of of energy invested grants better results.
Some use SIMS of 5, others prefer soloSIM (1 at a time). Personaly, I found a SIM of 7 or 8 to be most efficient, though even that is no guarantee (as can be seen).
- Charcter Shard - 80/375 (5 SIM x 16 Energy)
- Gear parts - 240/375 (8 SIMx 10 Energy x3)
or
- Character Shard - 80/375 (5x16 SIM)
- Ship Shard - 180/375 (5x20 SIM)
- Character Shard - 240/375 (5x12 SIM)
- Gear parts - 370/375 (8-10x10 SIM)
- Charcter Shard - 128/165 (8x8 SIM x2)
or
- Charcter Shard - 160/165 (5x16 SIM x2)
- Mod Challenges - xxx/285 (10 to 16x8 SIM x2 or x3)
or
- Mod Battles - xxx/285 (10 to 14x8 SIM x2 or3)
- Character Shards - 80/285 (16 to 20x5 SIM)
- Character Shards - 160/285 (16 to 20x5 SIM)
- Fleet Shards - 260/285 (16 to 20x5 SIM)
or
- Character Shards - 80/285 (16 to 20x5 SIM)
- Character Shards - 160/285 (16 to 20x5 SIM)
- Gear - 280/285 (8 to 20x X SIM)

Farming Table
This farming table is my personal preference, since I learned the hard way that
certain toons take ages: | I am also looking at you: |
---|---|
|
|
Plenty of people recommend that you rush for a Galactic Legend first, but while doing so you neglect a ton of other teams you could get all the while, creating a stronger foundation for yourself. Especially now that the Squad Arena Payout has been moved to the GAC.
A commenon suggestion is also, to rush for JKR or DR at first, not putting into account that:
- you need to be at a certain level to unlock the specific nodes first
- and after that you need to farm the characters as well
taking up precious time (and Energy) in the process.
Meanwhile, you wasting plenty of opportunities to build up your roaster. With these recommendation you can build up a strong foundation, unlock various teams and decide were you wanna go from there.
The first team we will be focusing on, is the Phoenix Squad.
Not only does the Phoenix Squad have amazing synergy for Beginners, they are also required for the Admiral Thrawn and Emporer Palpatine Event
Phoenix | Type | Node | Costs | Requirement | Comment | Energy used | Unlock to 7* | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Hera Syndulla | Cantina | 1F | 8 | Level 8 | Focus First | 8x8SIM (64x2) | ~Day 15 (without rebuy) | |
Chopper | Cantina Store | Store | 400 | Level 8 | about 10 Shards every 2 days | Cantina Energy Token | ~ Day 33 (without rebuy) | |
Ezra Bridger | Cantina | 2B | 8 | Level 16 | Focus Second | 8x8SIM (64x2) | ~ Day 33 (without rebuy) | |
Kanan Jarrus | Squad Arena Store | Store | 400 | Level 28 | 1 or 2 per Day | min. 10 Shards a day | ~Day 22 | |
Zeb | Galactic War Store | Store | 400 | Level 40 | up to 3 a Day | Galactic War Token | ~Day 15 |
Explain why these 5 Squadmates might be a decent choice early on over Phoenix Squad
PVP + Galactic | Type | Node | Costs | Requirement | Comment | Energy used | Unlock to 7* | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Jedi Knight Anakin | Dark Side | 1B | 12 | Level 1 | Also 3E | 60 | ~46 Days | |
Ahsoka Tano | Light Side | 1B | 12 | Level 1 | Cantina 400 | 60 | ~50 Days | |
Obi-Wan Kenobi OldBen | Dark Side | 2C | 12 | Level 12 | Cantina 1C ; 8 Lvl 8 | 60 | ~80 Days | |
Moff Gideon | Light Side | 2D | 12 | Level 1 | Cantina 4E ; 8 Lvl 46 | 60 | ~150 days | |
Dark Trooper | Light Side | 1C | 12 | Level 1 | 60 | ~120-140 days | ||
Total Energy | 300 |
you still need 5 Jedis so you can get GMY early, JKA and Ahsoka are often a choice, their ships are great and both are in the padme team table for GMY
Old Ben is required for Commander Luke Skywalker, leaving Kanan and Ezra as rush goals (Phoenix = Chimera + Thrawn)
